NASHVILLE: Extreme flooding in the Nashville area has resulted in many people losing their homes, including fellow students and fellow Democrats. The Bellevue and Antioch areas were hit exceptionally hard. The USNYDs will be planning several initiatives to help with flood relief in Nashville and to be faithful stewards of our state.
What is the USNYD doing?
1. The USNYD is leading a text initiative. Text REDCROSS to 90999, and $10 will be charged to your cell phone bill at the end of the month which will go to the Red Cross' initiatives in Tennessee.
2. We are also planning a service project to take place in the first week of June after the exams. As of now, it will take place in Bellevue or Antioch.
3. $100 dollars from our account is going to be given to the Krause family, who lost everything in the flooding. Mike Krause is a member of the Tennessee Young Democrats Executive Board. We want to try and help him out the best we can. TNYD is currently matching all money received for that effort, so our contribution will count two times over.
